If you dream to come to Italy and walk on the same streets your ancestors trod, look at the same landscape, pray in the same church where they did it and read your ancestors’ names on the real, centuries old record books, I am available to guide you through all this with a customized ancestry tour.
The first step is to collect as many info as possible about your ancestors. You may already have a family tree with plenty of names and dates, or we can agree for a genealogical research to be made in advance of your coming (check this page https://egancestryresearch.com/informazioni/ )
In the second phase I will research your family in more detail, aiming to identify the places, buildings or artifacts that were actually related to your ancestors, for example:
- their house
- their estates or land
- the place where they worked
- the barracks where they spent their military service
- the graves of family people
- if you are lucky, artworks made by your own ancestor, like in this fortunate case: https://egancestryresearch.com/2020/02/12/something-about-your-ancestor-that-you-can-touch/
I will also organize, if possible, a visit to the local parish archive to show you the old books where your family history is recorded.
Finally, I will be ready to welcome you in your ancestor’s town and guide you through the place in a tour that will be tailor-made to your wishes and needs.
The area where I work is in North West Italy and includes the regions Piemonte (Piedmont), Valle d’Aosta (Aosta Valley), Lombardia (Lombardy), Liguria.
If you need an ancestry tour in nearby regions such as Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Toscana (Tuscany) or in the Swiss canton Ticino, don’t hesitate to get in touch: I may be able to do it there, too.
